Tarpy Heating and Air came by my house yesterday (July 19) after I requested a service call. Service was performed with the tools and equipment on hand all within half an hour and was charged a reasonable price. Five stars! Thanks, guys!

Service Call

I had to have my wall heater replaced so I called one other company and Tarpy. The other company came out first and gave me an estimate without taking off the cover and inspecting the heater. They said they could probably clean it and replace the pilot for $400 or put in a new one in for X amount of $ . Alex from Tarpy came out and did a through inspection and found that the firebox had a hole burned in it and showed me where it had overheated. I ended up getting the cost of the estimate applied to a new heater and it was over $100 cheaper than the first estimate and the job was done quickly and professionally. Very happy with Tarpy.

Heater Replacement

Awesome, courteous, knowledgeable, and loves dogs! Today was our first time using Tarpy and will certainly use them again. Crystal was professional and courteous when scheduling my appointment and was equally as helpful when I called back the-day-of to change the “30 minutes before the appointment” phone number. Rick was very knowledgeable about our furnace and educated me on some of its finer points. Additionally, he installed the NEST thermostat and trained me on how to use it. The total installation and fuse-replacing rate was about $50 higher than the “diagnostic” rate, but in my opinion it was totally worth it for the peace of mind (I blew the fuse when I attempted to install the NEST and the wires touched). Rick even showed me where the fuse was in case I make another bone head move… Would certainly recommend them to anyone.

My experience with Tarpy Heating and Air was excellent! Richard came out a few times to fix some nonsense in my attic. He spoke with Honeywell quite a bit to fix the situation and on his second trip (with a full day in the attic on a hot day); Honeywell ended up providing the incorrect instruction to fix the issue. The Tarpy technician did not charge us for the time, which was commendable. It is very easy to tack on additional hours in a situation like that; Richard maintained a honest and positive outlook the entire time (despite the 120 degree attic). I was miserable spending 10 minutes up there, now I have a cold house thanks to the service these guys provided me.

Furnace Repair

Paul works really hard to ensure that his customers have a great experience with his company, and that is easy to see after working with him. I chose Tarpy Heating and Air after comparing other companies because of Tarpy’s competitive prices. I was very pleased with the installation process and the customer service. We were very impressed with Tarpy Heating and Air. They really seem to care for the customer. Our hot water heater broke and we woke up to cold showers which was miserable. That was on a Sunday. We called them immediately and THEY ANSWERED! One of the techs showed up the next day at 7:30am and we had hot water an hour later. Absolutely premium service. Hot Water Heater Repair

I’ve used Tarpy for air conditioning work for almost 3 years now. I first came across them because my business was required to have air filters changed every quarter by a licensed HVAC contractor. The contractor selected by my property manager charged me $75 for a filter replacement 4 times a year. That seemed like a lot to me for something I could easily do myself. So… I called Tarpy Heating and Air and I just happened to get a hold of the owner Paul. Paul told me he would be happy to become our service provider and he would do it for much less every quarter and just asked me to think of him when I had another HVAC need. So, Paul or one of his guys have been replacing my filters for 2 years, always discreet and professional. About 2 years later I decided to put AC in the house. I did shop around a bit and Tarpy gave me a great bid. It was a couple hundred more than 2 other shops I talked to, but I knew I could trust this company to do it right and to fix anything that might go wrong without any difficulty (which in my experience is not always easy to find.) Everything went great with my installation and I’ve had great use of my AC for the last year until we hit our first hot week in June. My unit stopped working on a hot afternoon, no sound and no movement in the unit. I called Tarpy and talked to Richard who sent out a tech the next morning. Something in the unit had failed under the first heavy use so the tech Adam replaced a small part for me and said that it was such a simple fix that there was no charge to take care of it (Awesome!) My furnace is about 24 years old and I know I’m gonna have to swap it out this fall or next and I plan on calling Tarpy again.
